Revisiting the era of the iPhone 4, which marked Apple's shift from metallic to dual-glass panel design, the iPhone X returns to this trend. This move, while not surprising, aligns with pre-release rumors predicting an all-glass build for the new iPhones. All three models now boast a dual-glass panel design, exuding a sense of premium quality.
Confirming earlier speculations, the iPhone X does have a slightly thicker build compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 7s. With a width of 7.7mm and a weight of 174g, the device maintains its sleekness while incorporating improved IP68-certified dust and waterproofing, along with a more efficient battery.
As anticipated, the iPhone X features a completely bezel-less front panel, a design element that gained momentum with rumors and leaks preceding its release. The device showcases a bezel-less display spanning from the top to the bottom, housing a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density of 428ppi. Despite a slightly lower than expected screen-to-body ratio of 82.9%, the iPhone X's bezel-less display offers a compact size with a sizable viewing area.
In the camera department, the iPhone X introduces significant changes. The dual 12 MP primary camera, equipped with 2x optical zoom, phase detection autofocus, OIS, and dual-tone LED flash, promises improved photography. Notably, the secondary 7 MP sensor is a 3D camera, enhancing the selfie experience with portrait mode capabilities.
The iPhone X claims to be the fastest smartphone in the world, building upon the success of its predecessor, the iPhone 7 Plus. Featuring a hexa-core processor with 3GB RAM and the A11 Bionic chipset optimized for demanding applications, the iPhone X ensures seamless performance. Storage options include 64GB or 256GB internal storage, with no external card slot. The absence of a headphone jack is compensated by dual-stereo speakers for enhanced sound quality.
A noteworthy change is the replacement of Touch ID with the Face ID system for seamless iPhone unlocking. The iPhone X embraces USB Type-C v3.0 for rapid data transfer, improved Fast Charging technology achieving 50% battery charging in 30 minutes, and the introduction of wireless charging. While wireless charging is a noteworthy feature, its practical applications for users in Pakistan remain to be explored.
